Seville, March 13, 2025 – GLS Spain strengthens its presence in Andalusia with the opening of a new facility in Bollullos de la Mitación (Seville), strategically located in the El Pibo Industrial Park, a key area in the Aljarafe region of Seville. This new logistics center aims to optimize parcel services in the region and surrounding areas, improving operational capacity and ensuring faster and more efficient delivery times.
Directly connected to the A-49 highway, this new facility enhances delivery routes and reinforces GLS Spain’s presence in Andalusia. Direct access to one of the main communication routes allows GLS to provide faster delivery times while elevating service quality in this strategic area.
“The opening of this new facility in Bollullos de la Mitación strengthens our distribution capacity in a key area of Andalusia, ensuring more efficient operations. Thanks to its strategic location in the metropolitan area of Seville, we can be closer to our network of local agencies and offer faster, more effective service. This, in turn, improves the experience for both our customers and recipients,” says J. Cristóbal Monje, South-Division Manager of GLS Spain.
Optimizing Operational Capacity
With an area of 3,270 m², including 1,797.12 m² dedicated to operations and 461.49 m² for offices, the new facility enables more efficient management of the total parcel volume in the area. The infrastructure includes 17 van bays and 2 trailer bays, significantly streamlining the flow of loading and unloading. This translates to improved transit times, optimized delivery routes, and faster package processing in the region. The new facility enhances GLS Spain’s ability to handle a higher volume of parcels and provides a key solution for faster and more efficient service.
Innovation and Sustainability in Logistics
In line with GLS Spain’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, the new facility has been designed with operational and energy efficiency in mind. The infrastructure includes an automated sorting belt with a gravity unloader and two manual roller tables, optimizing parcel handling processes. Additionally, the facility incorporates sustainability measures, such as double-glazed windows with solar control, motion-detection lighting in common areas, and plans for installing photovoltaic panels in the future. These initiatives contribute to significant energy savings, reducing electricity consumption and the facility’s carbon footprint. The spaces are well-lit with LED lighting and include a charging area for electric forklifts, improving operational conditions.
With this step, GLS Spain reaffirms its commitment to expanding its logistics network across the country, focusing on modern and sustainable infrastructures that enhance service quality and contribute to more efficient and environmentally friendly logistics.
