The programme will enable the integration of professionals at risk of exclusion into GLS Spain’s corporate offices and operational teams across its agency network.
Barcelona, 28 January 2025 – This morning, GLS Spain formalized its commitment to the Incorpora Programme of the “la Caixa” Foundation, reinforcing its dedication to promoting workforce diversity within its corporate structure and agency network. The initiative focuses on supporting individuals with social and employment challenges by providing opportunities for those facing barriers to entering the labour market and engaging in productive activities. These barriers may stem from socio-economic factors, health issues, origin, disability, cultural diversity, age, or lack of training or accreditation, among other challenges.
The agreement was signed this morning at the headquarters of the “la Caixa” Foundation in Barcelona by Núria Danés Jofre, Director of the Corporate Social Inclusion Area of the “la Caixa” Foundation, and Javier Marzá, Chief Diversity Officer of GLS Spain.
With the establishment of this collaboration, GLS Spain joins the network of socially responsible companies that, by committing to employing individuals at risk of social exclusion, demonstrate human resource policies rooted in the values of inclusion, equal opportunity, and non-discrimination.
GLS pledges to share its available job openings within its corporate offices and agency network with the Incorpora programme, along with the specific requirements for each role, to encourage recruiting individuals from vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, the Incorpora programme will distribute these job offers to its network of 411 partner organisations, which will recommend candidates they deem best suited for the positions. Participation in the programme also includes access to specialised guidance on grants, hiring subsidies, and job creation support, among other services.
Javier Marzá, Chief Diversity Officer of GLS Spain, highlighted this agreement as part of “our strong commitment to providing our corporate offices and agency network with access to Incorpora, enabling them to independently and directly promote the employability and integration of individuals at risk of social exclusion. This initiative aligns with our core efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive culture while supporting the development of the communities where we operate.”
GLS Spain established the Diversity Department in 2024 to strengthen its social responsibility, focusing on including disadvantaged groups and individuals at risk of exclusion in the workplace. Key initiatives include the signing of the Inserta agreement with Fundación ONCE in February 2024 to promote the hiring of people with disabilities, as well as the ongoing collaboration with various Special Employment Centres (known in Spanish as CEE). These efforts aim to create an equitable work environment and provide professional opportunities for individuals with different levels of disability.
GLS Spain is also involved in several international initiatives that foster diverse and high-quality work environments, such as the United Nations Global Compact’s “Human Rights and Business Accelerator” programme and the Target Gender Equality initiative. Another testament to the company’s commitment to diversity in all its forms is the renewal of the European Commission’s and the Secretariat of State for Equality’s Diversity Charter in 2024, reaffirming its core principles.
Additionally, Núria Danés Jofre, Director of the Corporate Social Inclusion Area at the “la Caixa” Foundation, emphasized that “social inclusion and diversity management are top priorities, and having a job is a crucial first step towards achieving this inclusion. This partnership between the Incorpora programme and GLS enables us to create more opportunities for social and labour market integration and professional development, contributing to the progress of both individuals and society.”
