Madrid, February 20, 2025 – GLS Spain and Menttoriza presented today at the Monday Cibeles Building in Madrid the LAB4LOGISTICS challenge, an initiative aimed at innovative projects in the logistics and transportation sector. LAB4LOGISTICS supports ideas and projects that drive business progress, addressing key challenges such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and sustainability in logistics models.
The challenge is open to disruptive proposals from any geographical location, coming from the business, university, vocational training, and innovation and research center fields. GLS Spain and Menttoriza thus initiate an open innovation collaboration to foster new startups in logistics and operations, joining forces to generate synergies in co-financing and business consolidation, with a special emphasis on academic and research projects.
Menttoriza provides a growth environment with a solid structure of area directors, specialized mentors, and perks that enhance business ideas. Additionally, it facilitates access to public and private financing and connects companies with a wide entrepreneurial community.
For its part, GLS Spain promotes open innovation with the professional world, developing programs that favor talent growth, idea development, and the connection of innovative projects, thus boosting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
José Luis Nieto, president of Menttoriza Hub, assures: “The logistics sector is facing a key moment with great challenges that require a commitment to technology and innovation. This alliance with GLS Spain represents a great synergy that decisively strengthens the search for talent and new business and production models. The sector demands it, and we, with initiatives like this challenge, want to promote and crystallize those brilliant ideas into viable and successful projects for the entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Roberto Martinez, Managing Director of GLS Spain, states: “The collaboration with Menttoriza will help us connect the academic and innovation ecosystem with entrepreneurship, to detect and promote talent and projects that respond to the pressing and global logistics challenges we face today. It is an open, transversal, and cooperative collaboration. We aspire to add value in a very flexible format to anyone willing to contribute.”
Challenge Structure
The process will be developed in several phases. The registration phase will be open until March 14. Subsequently, and until April 4, the evaluation phase will take place, in which the most promising proposals will be selected. From April 7 to 11, the immersion and mentoring phase will take place, where participants will receive specialized training. Finally, the Demo Day will take place on May 22, when the finalist projects will present their proposals to a jury.
The winners will receive as a prize the creation of a Strategic Plan, Business Plan, or Marketing Plan for their project. Additionally, for several months, they will have the support of Menttoriza mentors to achieve the definitive boost for their project.
