Following the acquisition of ASM Transporte Urgente in 2016, GLS takes over Redyser Transporte. Redyser primarily serves the express sector. The acquisition expands the domestic service of GLS Spain and strengthens its position as the second-largest express parcel network in Spain.

Third sustainability report
In line with the G4 GRI, the GLS Group publishes its third sustainability report, entitled “ThinkGLS. ThinkResponsible.” The focus is on economy, responsibility for climate and the environment, and social engagement.

Rico Back new CEO of the Royal Mail Group
The supervisory board of Royal Mail names Rico Back its next Chief Executive Officer. He had already been Senior Executive of the British postal organisation since 1999. After a career of almost 30 years in parcel logistics, the former CEO of the GLS Group takes on his new position on 1 June 2018.
James Rietkerk new CEO
James Rietkerk, previously Group CFO, succeeds Rico Back as CEO of the GLS Group. Thorsten Pruin becomes the new CFO of the GLS Group.

Ivan Hofmann manages US activities
GLS names Ivan Hofmann as CEO of GLS US Inc. Hofmann supports the GLS Group in its activities in the USA. He is also in charge of the integration of GSO and Postal Express, which GLS acquired in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

British Isles connected to international FlexDeliveryService.
GLS has now fully connected the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland to the international FlexDeliveryService. The service now links a total of 17 European countries in all directions.

EcoVadis silver certification
The GLS Group again receives the CSR certificate of the auditing company EcoVadis – this time with a silver rating, having improved in all categories.

GLS acquires Canadian parcel service
GLS takes over Dicom Canada, headquartered in Montreal. The company offers parcel, freight and logistics services across Canada, mainly in the B2B segment.
